Laughter Yoga is a unique concept started by medical doctor Dr. Madan Kataria. He scientifically proved that deep hearty laughter brings about measurable physiological and psychological changes. Laughter yoga combines laughter exercises and yoga breathing, where the body receives more oxygen to feed the brain increasing brain function, it induces muscle relaxation, reduces the stress hormone and raises the mood lifting hormones, increases blood circulation and if done regularly improves the immune system.
Laughter Yoga is a great connector of people over all ages and teaches people they can laugh unconditionally so that in times of stress we can tap into this ability and use it as a coping mechanism to keep a positive mental attitude. LY clubs allow people to come together and laugh together in childlike playfulness and enjoy it as a group activity, many people don’t get the chance to laugh heartily with others and LY provides us with this chance and the ability to learn the easy techniques to take home.
